UQ Chemistry – CMM Centre for Microscopy and microanalysis

St Lucia, Queensland

The project involved the upgrade and expansion of an existing laboratory and Office facilities on Level 2 of the Chemistry Building at University of Queensland. The works were undertaken whilst the balance of Level 2 and building remained operational. Scope of works included a full upgrade of the Mechanical Services including the installation of 2 process chillers. Laboratory and Electrical services were expanded and upgraded to allow for the installation of new specialised equipment.

UQ Qld Brain Institute (Ritchie Building) – Level 3 Office Fit out and Level 4 Small animal facility

St Lucia, Queensland

The project involved:

Level 4 – Construction of a small facility requiring the full upgrade of all building services. The external windows were all removed and replaced with new glazing to rectify a significant defect with water ingress.

Level 3 – The existing Level was gutted and a new office fit out was completed to accommodate Qld Brain Institute Researchers and staff. The works were undertaken whilst the building remained operational.

The project involved the upgrade of all high voltage power infrastructure across the Longpocket campus. Construction of 4 substations and 2 new switchrooms. Installation of a new ring main involving the installation of conduits via directional boring and open excavation. The works were undertaken whilst the campus remained operational.

The project included a significant upgrade to the cleanroom HVAC system.The upgrade consisted of the installation of terminal HEPA to all cleanrooms on Level 3 of the existing building. remained operational.

Peplin Operations Pty Ltd – API Southport Upgrade Project – Stage 2

Southport, Queensland

The project involved construction of a high level pharmaceutical grade clean room laboratory. The works were performed whilst the existing facility remained operational incoorporating a significant amount of hazardous area electrical installations. The project included the procurement from International supplies with high pressure on delivery to meet critical lead times.

Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology – Biotech

Bowen Hills, Queensland

The project involved the relocation of Biotech laboratories from Greenslopes hospital to the new head office at Bowen Hills. The project involved the construction of a 420m2 laboratory on level B1.The management of subcontractors within an operational to ensure critical relocation dates were met was crucial to this projects success.

Indooroopilly, Queensland

The project involved the refurbishment of an existing workshop into the new Australian Transformer Research Centre. The works involved the installation of a large transformer, fire rated separation and bunding of TX. Works were completed in an operational building at the University of Queensland Longpocket Campus.

Peplin Operations Pty Ltd – API Southport Upgrade Project

Southport, Queensland

The upgrade and expansion of the Peplin Operations Pty Ltd API Southport. The works involved a staged upgrade to a pharmaceutical facility. The works included the addition and upgrade of all Building Services to GMP standard. Upgrade and increase in the size of the Laboratory Area  and also the construction of an offsite facility that incorporated large scale cold room facilities and administrative offices.

ANNF-Q Laboratory Space Expansion – AIBN Building

University of Queensland

The refurbishment and expansion of the Clean Room laboratories on Level 2 of the AIBN Building. The works included an upgrade of the mechanical services and Laboratory gases to incorporate the relocation of a splutterer. A new process Chiller was installed in the main plant room with pipes reticulated to level 2. The works also involved the installation of 4 fume cupboards on level 4 with new PVC duct being installed up the riser thru to a new stainless steel flue on the roof. The laboratory had to remain operational throughout the duration of the works.

Idexx laboratories Upgrade Project

Brisbane, Queensland

The refurbishment and upgrade of the Idexx laboratories at Woolongabba. The works involved detailed stages so as the entire lab could remain operational through the construction period. The works included the addition and upgrade of all Laboratory and administrative functions and incorporated the construction of a mezzanine floor within the Building to increase the available GFA. The Laboratory operated 24/7 throughout the construction of the works.

Queensland Biosciences Precinct

Located within the grounds of the University of Queensland’s St Lucia Campus, this project is a joint venture between the university and the CSIRO.  This is the largest of its kind in Australia housing molecular biology laboratories, shared chemistry laboratories, information science laboratories, bio-informatics laboratories, analytical chemistry and greenhouse laboratories and structural biology, development biology, synthetic chemistry and vivarium laboratories. Shared facility support, administration offices, central wash-up, workshops and stores / waste areas.  Site works include a 220 space carpark, new and upgraded services, roadworks and landscaping.

Mater Childrens and Adults Hospital Integration

A complex refurbishment that included the upgrade of the accident and emergency areas of the hospital and the complete refurbishment of the CSSD, main entry, Chapel and café. All construction works were completed while the area remained fully operational.

Mater Children’s Hospital

The design included a new children’s hospital of 100 public and 40 private beds over eight levels with strong functional linkages to both the Mater Adult Public Hospital and the Mater Mother’s Hospital. A number of service collocations promoted efficiencies including emergency services, medical imaging, operating suites / day procedures and inpatient accommodation.

Mater Private Hospital Redland Collocation

The hospital is a 70 bed hospital of 7,561sqm over five levels with provision for expansion. The hospital houses functions such as wards, operating theatres, kitchens, offices and is combined with a single level section that incorporates a chapel, recovery rooms, medical suites and a reception area.
